Handwriting Analysis of Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong

Student. Rebel. Pro-democracy activist.  Internationally known for his prominent role during the 2014 Umbrella Movement, his major influence on Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement resulted in his inclusion in TIME magazine's Most Influential Teens of 2014 and nomination for its Person of the Year 2014, recognition by Fortune magazine as one of the world's greatest leaders in 2015, and, plans for nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Here's some behind the scenes understanding of what drives Joshua Wong and why:

What drives him?
Belief.  Joshua Wong believes in right and wrong, to-do and not-to-do. He has clarity of thought and clear lines of demarcation.
(High top zones, clear and strong lines)

Will he negotiate?

Never. He is driven by self-decided principles.  His strong sense of right and wrong seems to be assisting from a childhood where values were non-negotiable. He won't meet you in the middle, he's convinced he's right and wants you to meet him where he is.
(D-stem and no loops, no start or end strokes, capital I with clear top and bottom strokes)

Can he be influenced?

Tough, very tough.  Joshua is driven by philosophical interpretation of right and wrong.  He is fighting not out of emotion, but intellect.  Fiercely independent, he is not a follower, he is a thought-originator.  His followers will look up to him and depend on him for his philosophical or ideological leadership and guidance.  History will be able to remember him not only as the fighter, but the one who sparked A thousand people to become fighters.  Personally, he doesn't think of himself as a leader and wants people to think for themselves rather than being his or anyone's blind supporters.
(Piercing top zone single strokes, no unnecessary strokes, no y loops, clear writing, no space between letters which touch excessively)

Is he amicable?

He is friendly when dealing in public, but in private, he is less likely to be warm and amicable.  His followers must contend with a stubborn, no-nonsense person who will not budge, will do what he does, and will expect the same of others.  He'll not tolerate weakness of character, and at times may come across as a bit heartless in his pursuit of his goals, especially to people who are very close to him.

(Garland writing, 'club' formations in t and f bars, no end strokes, very disciplined, no ornamentation of Alphabets)

Freedom lover?

Joshua is a person who has no boundaries with people who very close to him. He is very transparent in his dealings and expects the same from others.  People were very close to him can feel that he is almost infringing in how he invades their privacy.  Whereas, he's ready to give his life to the cause of freedom in public life.  An interesting contrast here!

(Close letters but widely spaced words)

What irritates him?

Yes he's irritated, and anxious.  He is a restless soul.  Why so? Joshua believes he is right, is intelligent enough to be adamant about it, and remains anxious about the outcome.  He is future focused rather than present focused, and while this makes him a visionary leader, it causes him to worry about an unknown future and leads him to be irritable.  He holds on to the past, and finds it difficult to let go.

(Slashed i-dot, club formations in t and f bars, high pressured writing)

What holds him together?

If he's irritated and anxious, what holds him together is his child-like optimism and believes in what others may consider impractical goals.  He builds castles in the air, and is sometimes disconnected with dire circumstantial realities.  He is a loner who draws his own conclusions and marches to his own beat.  Also, he's very disciplined.

(Baseline not touching the ruled lines of the paper, no slant in writing, no lower zone loops, strict left margin)

Less is more?

Joshua approaches life directly. He has disdain for wastage.  He is a minimalist, both in body and spirit, who believes in live and let live.  People around him will be surprised by how little he needs to survive and keep moving.

(No extra strokes, no ornamentation, reduction of writing strokes - full stop is done in the same stroke as last alphabet of the sentence, less spacing)

Joshua Wong has chosen a path similar to Gandhi.  After analysing his traits, it seems unlikely he could have walked on another path.  If he continues on his mission, time will remember him as a giant of humanity.
